Mount "El Castillo" is the location of the most significant Palaeolithic heritage site in Europe, consisting of the caves of El Castillo, Las Monedas, La Pasiega and Las Chimeneas. A modern interpretation centre provides an enjoyable and educational insight into prehistory.

Visiting the cave of the red hinds is like going on a journey into the furthest ancestral roots of our culture. Situated in an area of great natural beauty, the cave is renowned for its fine cave paintings. The experience is rounded off by a visit to the El Mirón cave site.
The El Pendo cave is particularly impressive because of its size and beauty. The recently discovered panels of paintings represent one of the most extraordinary collections of cave paintings in existence.
